I'm new to this forum and wrenching in general. I'm thinking about putting a diesel engine into an SJ413 as a project. I know there are good kits for putting in VW 1.6 litre diesel engines and that it isn't really feasible to make a honda diesel engine fit. Does anyone know anything about the new Honda 1.6 litre i-DTEC diesel engines and if there is any chance it could be successfully fit into an SJ413 or other Suzuki?

First question - which way does it spin?
I'm not familiar with it, but 10 seconds with Google told me it's used in the Civic, which is a front wheel drive Honda - Honda is known for engines that spin "backwards", ie. clockwise when viewed from the flywheel end - Suzuki engines, as do most other brands, spin counter-clockwise, so transplanting most Honda engines would not work.
