I am about to introduce a very heavy duty CV axle for the Track/Kick. Any one interested or have questions??
-
Yes, I am. Looking forward to your configuration.
Think they would work with a 3rd generation (XL7) setup, steel or aluminum, or with the Calmini anvil?
-
is going to have the same drop limitations or is it going to be able to handle more lift than the stock?
-
one more thing i wuold like to see is a 3 bolt flange for the pass. side. some thing with out a 500$ or 600$ price tag.

What Kind of price range are you talking about? Once you get them developed, let us know more detail (proof) that their stronger and you will have one HOT item 8)

So are you still using the stock CV with longer shafts?  If not where are you getting the CV's?  Not that I'm trying to steel your ideas.
When I broke my last one it was under compression.  So the bearing and cage were not at the outter end where it's the weekest.
-
Interested
-
I m also interested.I have the triangulated flange type,both sides.(Calmini Anvil configuration). 26 splines.
-
I haven't broken a shaft yet but I do mainly mud rather rocks. I'm more interested in extra travel, of course if its a lot stronger then thats a bonus.
-
Kerry,
I have broken many of them. Some from over extending while attempting to get a little more travel out of the front, many inner cages, many inner stubs on the passenger side (Right) before going with an anvil, and the last one was the outter stub shaft (also destroyed my lock out hub >:()
HTH,
Zig

I broke my inner CV cage.

I'll bite. I have the GV axle on my 95. Thats the onlyy reason I haven't gone with a front locker yet. Too worried about braking my daily driver.
-
Wow, I like it!
When I get my anvil, I'll definately invest in a set of these.
-
man i am most definently in line to get one and no cutting....but ohh the wait for the final release hopefully this wont be like the sas from calmini... shane
-
so do you have an idea of what these are going to cost when you start selling them?
-
would it be possible to send you both sides and have the new cvs installed and shipped back? just wondering as that might be easier for us to just bolt em' back in. just a thought, well one more Q when can we see a product available?? thanks for giving us ifs people a little more faith. :)
-
"Have Faith Axles"
-
Have you thought about distribution and/or exporting to other countries. As I would be interested in this product for Australia.
-
Zukipilot your my hero....I have never even broken an outer stub shaft................
Any way I will post some pix tonite that will show the difference in the bearings, cage and flower(race).
Again thanks for the input and questions.............
Formula for breaking an outter stub:
Double Rock ledge mixed with loose dirt, low range 1st gear 4500-5000 rpm, lift a wheel and land back on it without letting up :P

Kerry:
Would these cv's be field repairable? Would the consumable parts such as the boot and clamps be available for replacement/maintenance? Never replaced a cv front axle (other than Caravan), does the larger cv fit through the knuckle?
Your size of the joint compared to stock is roughly ~2 times. Would these need to be balanced for 'road-worthy' engagement? I know you've stated off-road only, but newer Vitaras/XL7s run a splined hub up front.
TORA axles sound great. You've got to also come up with a logo and a sticker.
-
Hey Kerry,
I am willing to help you feild test these at Paragon. Give me a shout and we'll hook up. ;D I know of a great 4 dr kick willing to be a guinee pig ;)
-
When your talking a core charge, will you take broken one's (cage gone) or warn out one's from a ripped boot?
It looks like you only need the axils for the ends?
-
Yes, as long as splines are the same count as axle(s) being requested,
I'll guess you are referencing the stub ends which hold the outer cage/cup (??).
I guess a learning lesson is involved for the names of the parts.
-
kerrywittig, were you at Zookimelt two years ago with an beat up black Tracker? The back end was cut and the gas tank was redone for a better angle? And when you went to do the rock course you broke a tie rod?
-
Ok, I remember ya. Sorry I should of said "Well used looking" ;D
Mine was still new looking back then. It now resemble that "Well used look" now also.
When you mentioned your Toy adapter that's what triggered my memory. I remember checking out you adapter and noticing how nice your adapter looked. All nice and machined, nothing looked cobbled up.

Cool, I got that on video from the Ackman.

This sounds like a great idea for CVs.
I've recently been looking around for beefed up Sammy stuff (since I'm not a Sammy guy, but am quickly forced into becomming one) and found that this place can create nearly any CV/BIRF you wish.

We may be going with them to build our custom birfs for our SAS.

just letting you know im still interested in these. and i was wondering if you had some type of time frame or date as to when they will be finished and ready to sell. ive got my tax refund and im trying :-/ to save around 300.00 for them but its' a burning a hole to get something else. if ya know what i mean. later shane.
-
Hmm, that's BEFORE Moab...
Hmm, hmm, hmm...
-
If your running a Calmini anvil you can eliminate the use of the outboard CV, since it uses the driverside flange CV instead, right?
-
Oh ya, sorry I misread your post.
I thought you were talking about the big lip thats around the passenger side shaft. Where it fits into the axel housing.
-
i saw that you will be selling them through rock 4x fabrication, well its too bad you have to work ;) like none of us have to ::). but anyways keep us posted.

Tara Tora axles are installed and so far so good..........
Only one problem.......................
My "real" job has taken me out on the road for probably the better part of this yaer and so testing and building will have to wait until I return home....June......Sept....and maybe not until November....
Gotta pay the bills............................
I call first in line.
Kerry, you can just drop off the Tracker at my place in the midwest. I'll take care of the testing. There are a few places I could use it in: Disney, Poteau, Badlands, and now the current trend in the midwest, ORV parks, just amopngst a many places. Would you mind the extra 5000 miles I'll be adding to the odo?
