Is the first time I have ever had a vehicle leave my shop lower than it came in.
To fab and install the coil suspenion took two full days, and Thomas Bentsen sold his 42"s and down sized to 38.5 sx. It felt weird lowering it, but He is pleased with the results.

hey i just realized what an lwb sammy is.
That was my first vechile ever it was never road legal but i used it for nothing but offroading on the riding stable i managed used to take it thru some serious stuff and still never got stuck also used to have fun intentionally rolling it on some hills we had on the farm it finally met its demise one day when i was coming down a very muddy hill a little to fast and stopping was not an option it was so muddy neither was turning so i had to bail before it hit the tree that was about 3 ft across well anyways end of sammy

Oh, so your the guy who does all the work for him!
I knew he said it was someone in Kelowna. Just never put two and two together.
Nice work bud!
Ya I remember seeing pics of the truck when he had his 42" tires and leaf suspension. The coils flex way better than his leaf system.

In your link, looks like the upper and lower arms for the rear use the same bolt in the mount.
This puts a lot of stress on that bolt and it's surface area.
I see that the rear shocks are not on the axle itself, but on the lower arm.

Calmini, has or had one last year.

You wouldn't happen to still have that lwb, would you?
I would love to have another one, or at the very least, have a lwb to make a trailer out of. I just think that would be cool as hell!

what does LWB mean?? also is that read sami a real picture?
-
LWB means "Long Wheel Base"
If you look at a pic of a LWB sammy compared to a regular sammy, the LWB is a lot longer. (Hence the name)
Yes, the red Sammy is a real picture. It's Jake Palmberg's rig. He's running Unimog axels and 44 tires. It's huge! I think there’s a few videos of his truck in the Vid section on the homepage.

thats crazy i thought that pic was fake all this time lol...i want to wheel with that guy =)

Thomas Bentsen's Lwb will be in moab this year!
So will my friend Brad Ranger. His Sj410 is so freeeeeky it makes my zuk look stock!
He has a 124" wheel base on a short wheel base frame!
I promised not to spill the beans of all his freaky mods. So you will just have to go to moab and see it!

pictures must be posted after moab as well as detailed descriptions of modifications, etc. for those of us who are unfortunate enough to not make it to moab.
