ok call me stupid... call me whatever...laugh at me ...but i have done a bad thing......... i broke a key in the ignition of a 91 tracker. now is there any way to get it out short of a locksmith. it is about 1/2 of the key. i feel shame........
-
use a really think strip of metal with a tinny drop of crazy glue.....or some sort of adhisive something on it then pull...its gunna ahve to be a strong adhesive but it cant run otherwise ull ruin the ign.
i dont see any other way to get it out..sry dude
i hope u get it fixed.
-
try a REALYY fine set of needle noses like ones for reparing glasses or something if not i think ur screwed
try reeeeeely srton glue
-
just make sure the glue doesnt jam up the ign lol then ull be in a whole other pile of dog ??? -looks like stink cloud =)

Why not just use it as is, you got the other half
of the key, and it don't fit in any other car. ;)
Aside from that, I took the ignition lock all apart,
I don't remember if you could get to the key from
there, but I know the thing will come apart with the
right tools, funny thing is, I haven't got a clue what
tools you'll need, it's been 4 years since I had it apart.

magnet?
-
:'( the keys are made of some kind of brass based metal, magnet wont work, i have some super strong ones and just tried, nothing :'(
-
i say tear the ign out put in a fancy smanshy neon or LED light and make the car a push button start =-)

i like wilds idea ;D

where did this guy go? did he break off his house key in the shed lock or something i wanted to know how he got it fixed
-
All he needs to do is HOTWIRE!!!! It's fun getting pulled over for speeding in YOUR car when you lost the keys (girlfriend did not remember she had then in her purse when she left that morning), so your speeding to work, late, in YOUR car that you had to hotwire to get there :P That was realy fun trying to explain to the police. It was even more fun trying to tell the boss the story about me sitting in the back of a police cruser for over an hour as they ran my ID, VIN, tags and everything else they could think of, search through the entire car, then say, oh were sorry this appears to be your car, have a good day >:(
-
LOL, I know it wasn't funny at the time,
but it make for good reading, :)

just use the other half of the key and put a 2nd one on the ring so u can open the doors..u have a really really secure key because a whole key wont fit in there =)
how did u acctually break it off in there though?..normally i put my feet out the window if my gf and i cant make it home =) j.k

BOY DO I REMEMBER THE DAY  ;D OH YEA I ALSO LIKE THE NO KEY PUSH BUTTON IDEA....HOW HARD IS THAT, CAUSE I SERIOUSLY HATE KEYS , I NEVER TAKE THEM OUT SO A PUSH BUTTON WOULD BE GREAT ???
-
im not totaly sure but i dont think it would be to hard to put in a push buttin..although u might still need the key in the ACC position i dont know much about that sry
