Title: 1996 Geo Tracker Diesel Engine Swap Questions.
Post by: od11bj on July 18, 2016, 12:28:39 AM
This is my first post on here so I thought I would begin by saying hello. I have a 1996 Geo Tracker LSI 2 Door.
My goal is to find a diesel engine that can provide more power for my truck but still retain MPG Miles per gallon. While I know some may disagree that it is not possible. I have done this in the past successfully with a S10 and cummins motor.
However my question is does anyone have any suggestions on what diesel motor to use? Or has anyone performed this in the past?    I have not seen this in detain after scouring the internet or just perhaps I'm not looking in the right areas for my interests.

Any advice/help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Welcome! Pretty much everybody does the VW swap into the Suzuki. There are a couple of companies that provide adapters which make it more simple of a swap. Check out Acme Adapters out of Portland, OR. Tell 'em Eric sent ya!

...and please share some pics of your project as you do it.

I have the Acme Adapters kit as well, its awesome. Mine is a VW 1.6td. Also added a oil cooler, intercooler, and a GM Alternator. My cousin got around 300 miles to a tank driving it from Portland to Alaska.
