Title: SHOCKS!!!!
Post by: RideorDie on July 20, 2016, 05:19:43 PM
Hey guys finally decided to keep my samurai and just build it. First off I have a 1987 Sammy with a spring over axle lift and 33in bfg mk2 mudders. What has come to my attention is my shocks. I have stock shocks still and really dont know where to go with it. I need new ones to maximize flex. Any suggestions on what size to get would be great. Kinda working on a budget build here so keep it cheap.

I would suggest contacting rocky road and tell them what you have or suspension and they will tell you how to measure for the correct size shocks they have inexpensive shocks bill with the correct valving for a samurai

I ran shocks from a 92 F250 front end with new shock towers.  It allowed for plenty of flex and worked well with an RUF conversion.

Those shocks might have been a little heave duty without the miles put on 93 F250 before installing new shocks on it.  But that SJ with all its "lets try this" ideas, turned into an awesome trail rig that we haven't matched yet.
