Title: 2002 tracker needs more power
Post by: kellyhagan on August 28, 2016, 06:35:08 PM
i have a 2002 tracker with 60,000km on it.  Has the 2.0l with automatic trans.  After a lift and putting 235/75/15 tires and a roof rack on it struggles on the highway.  I was wondering if anyone has removed the rear cat and if it made any hp gains, was thinking of doing that and installing cold air intake to hopefully get a couple horsepower, any other ideas to gain hp would be appreciated.  I realize i won't gain much without an engine swap but just looking to gain enough to cruise on hi way.  I changed plugs a couple thousand km ago, would changing out coils benefit any or is there no point in doing so until there are signs of them failing.

Gear swap your running I believe 4.88 and you could put 5.125 gears in or yes drop a 2.7 into it
