I have a 1992 4dr sidekick and was curious about the motor mounts
I would like to lift the motor about 3/4 or more by modifying the motor mounts if possible
Anyone ever done that or have an idea of how it could be done?

The easiest way would be to cut the down portion of the stock motor mount in half, then weld it back together with a 5/8" overlap. (I figure i/8" for the cut.) Be sure to measure how far out the lower mount hole is compared to the upper mount holes, and adjust the angle to achieve that distance, the horizontal distance is critical.
What is the purpose of this?

I'm still looking into the root cause but the bushing I replaced 1.5 years ago is getting destroyed by oil. I am looking to see if I need an oil pan gasket or a hole in the pan itself, it doesn't leak more than a quart every 3K miles so probably gasket.
It looks like a good idea to lift the motor to get it away from the oil pan and it would allow less oil to pool on the bushing
The motor looks a little sideways and in 4 wheel drive it sounds like it binds until you go turn the wheels straight or get out of 4 wheel drive

Feel the back of the Block under the distributor. If there is fresh oil, then you need to pull the distributor mount and replace the "O-ring".

You might also want to check your rear t-case mounts. It doesn't take much to replace them and they tend to be overlooked.
I didn't swap mine until I did a transmission rebuild and noticed they were both shot.
