i have a stock 91 tracker 2 door 5spd with stock size tires for a 95(long story) dont know if they are different or now..but i was wondering just how much air i should have in them? they are all wearing perfectly from what i can tell but they are all 1-2psi off so i was just wondering what i should fill them to

I think my BFGoodrich tires say 35 PSI on max load...

I have them set at 40.

but if thats what it takes then thats what ill do..im having kind of bad gas milage think the tires might be a small part of it

There's a label in the drivers side door jamb that tells you. I just looked (hee Hee) and it says 23lbs. Remember the tracker is  very light and over inflating could cause overheating and a blowout. I run 25lbs and it seems to ride well.

I usually go a few pounds more than the door label (the label numbers just seem way to low to me).

I've never tried it, but FWIW, I saw a show once about setting your tires up for the best street performance.  If I remember correctly, it went something like this:  you put a chalk mark on one spot of the outer tread and continue it up the sidewall a bit, then do some circles and figure 8's and check the chalk marks.  If there is still chalk on the outer tread, the tire is over-inflated.  If there is chalk missing from the sidewall, it is under-inflated.

Maybe I'll try that someday and see what the PSI ends up.

Hey, I drive mountain roads every day, that make this ---> S  look straight (we're talking paved roads, at high speeds).  It REALLY makes a difference in the handling of the rig.  Properly inflated, she corners amazingly well, considering she has no sway bar, and six inches of lift!  What do I run?

23 pounds.

At 35, she's squirrley, and very bad-mannered.

For the road I run 30PSI in my rear, 28PSI in the front.

My tires are okay to pressures of up to 35PSI by Sidewall reference.

This wears them evenly just fine.

For all you running PSI of door - umm, that's for STOCK tires -- just hoping you know that, because running a different size tire is definitely going to need a different pressure.

Also, running tires over the suggest PSI just seems dumb.

If your running stock tires go with the manufactures numbers.  They will inflate the tires to the max pressures to get the best gas milage out of them.  Then next will be the ride concideration.

OR

The best thing to do is just try a couple pressures and see how you like it and how it handles.

The important thing is that the oppsite tire has the same pressure in it.

When I'm on the road (32-11.5 tires) I run anywhere from 20-25.  Off road I run anywhere from 4 - 15 psi.  And if I'm on the low side I'll run a couple pounds more in the front because of the weight.  It'll give the same pattern as the back that way.

right now i have 23psi and it doesnt feel like the side walls are flexing at all when i turn..i cant really tell if my gas milage went up untill i get the free gas outa the car and acctually pay for some(not waiting for that lol)

but thanks alot for ur helps guys much appreciated..hopefully next time i ask this itl be for 33"s =0 lol
