HEARING A LITTLE WHINING OUT OF 2ND GEAR NOT LOUD OR CAUSING ANY PROBLEMS (YET) JUST WONDERING WHAT I MIGHT HAVE LOOKED AT IF IT GETS WORSE ??? MATTY D. :-/

AS we get closer to summer and things start to warm up a bit (56 deg. here today woooooooo hooooooo) the oil gets thinner and you will start to hear things that you prob. forgot about last summer, if thats not the case go to wally world and get a gallon of gl5 80-90 and change it out and look at the bottom of the pan to see how your doing!

My Sammy whines in all the gears. Probably due to wear...As mentioned above, drain the fluid and see what ya got in the catch pan. Look for metallic particles and or chunks. If ya got a lot of very fine particles, your gears are wearing. If you have chunks, you might have broken a piece of a gear off...

Both of my transmissions that I had to replace started out whining in 2nd. Then proceded to 3rd and 5th (will not whine in 4th, direct drive). My last one (X-90) I ran for 15-20,000 miles after the 2nd gear whine started, before it gave out. Definately service it and drive it. If it is the bearing going out, no worries untill 5th starts whining.

The only hard part was the fact that it was the first time in over 10 yrars of driving Zuks, that I have EVER been stranded where I could not gey it home, that is why I pushed it that far :P
