Title: 5 spd won't shift I to 3 or 4

87 Sami 5spd.

All other gears workfine, only 3 and 4 do not. I pulled the shifter and can't manage 3 or 4 even with a screw driver. It's like something is frozen/locked up

Long story short, the rig sat for about a year but never had this trouble previously. Not sure what else to diagnose.

On a second note, what causes the truck to roll forward slightly after letting off clutch while in nuetral? TIA

When I lost 3rd and 4th in my Tracker the issue was that I lost a bearing in the transmission.  If it sat for a while you could also have a stuck shift linkage.  In either case I would get a rebuild kit for the transmission and tear it apart.
