i took of my drum brake on the pass side to clean it and now the sob wont go back on!!!!..it hits the pads...so how do i get it back on?? rubber mallet wont work tried already ???

my idiot of a helper told me that when i told him to change cds he got in and pushed on the brake ..so i dont thik the brake has returned to where it was when i took the drum off...so how do i pursuade it back?

ok tried a ratchet strap..that didnt work..the brake seems to be enguaged to where the drum will not fit back over the pads...so how do i fix that?

ok my dad gave me back the manuel so all i had to do was depress the pin thingy and it fits..i just dont know if the brakes feel the same now..meh i dunno

take a good look at the mechanism for the ebrake, i found that on my samurai when i had the same exact problem i didnt have part of it lined up with the holes on the brake shoe properly making them extended further than normal. takes a trained eye if you dont know where to look, good luck, 6feet ;)

hey thanks for that bit of info..when i change the shoes ill keep that in mind =)
this time it was just my friend making my life hard as usual lol
he dropped my box with my 15s in it TWICE!!!!!!!! i almost killed him..

If the brake pedal doesn't feel right, the shoes need to be adjusted. Jack up the rear and spin the tires by hand, there should be a little grab by the shoes. If not turn the adjusters with a brake spoon until they just barely rub the drum, that should put your pedal right where it should be. Watch the adjusters, they only turn one way.

ok thanks for that..they pedal seems to feel alright now..i think i am waiting to wash the little turb before i move the 3 cars that are in my way of moving
my parents got mad last time i took off over the grass =) lol
