Title: engine assembly lube ??????

 Never used it always used lots of clean oil on bearings
   what do others say ????

We just used synthetic oil.  But it can't really hurt to run some.  That first run is always the hardest on parts.

I'm new to this so take this for what it's worth but I've heard STP makes a good assembly lube.  By that I mean to use STP for assembly lube.

Just my experience but STP is on the thick side, I've used a 50:50 mixture of STP and engine oil - I also like to prime the lubrication system and crank the engine over without the plugs (and EFI disabled if appropriate) until the oil is circulating freely.
