Title: 1.3 efi petrol or 2.0 diesel
Post by: noman8ff on February 15, 2017, 06:24:01 AM
Hello friends
I have a modified long wheel base jimny sierra 1.3 efi 1994 model and want to go diesel.
The plan is to have a toyota 2.0 diesel from townace. It will be a rear wheel drive engine with a rear wheel drive 5 speed gear. The 4X4 gear will have to be moved a little towards the back as the new set up is a little longer than the stock gear. It will be done easily as it's a long wheel base veh.
I want to know any DISADVANTAGES as the engine is heavier than the stock 1.3.
Regards

The main issue with the extra weight is you will probably need stiffer springs up front.  You might want to look at an Rear Spring Up Front conversion as well, slide that axle forward an inch or so at the same time.  That would help keep the weight off the front end.
