hey guys i have a 1.6liter 16 valve vitara(1993 model)
it seems slugish, i often find my self making the pedal hit the floor pan and i am taking off rather slowly!
i wanna do some really minor engine part changes, nothing major(like port polish etc) just bolt on goodies,
are these good additions to do:
KN air filter
triple spark spark plugs
maybe a new exaust, sport type
any other CHEAP easy to do mods i can do, can't afford the time or money for ripping the engine apart etc!
Thanks

All those sound like a good start.
You can also get a bottle of fuel injector cleaner. Some throttle body cleaner to spray into your intake. New plug wires to go with your new plugs.
The K&N filter works great. Worth its weight in gold.
If you wana get into the more expensive mods. A Calmini header is an awesome way to go.
I have a header and 2" exhaust with a K&N filter, and my truck hauls ass.

wish i could afford it, but i have toooooo many things i need to do: sound system, wheel spacers, interior, fog lights, and the list gos on!hehehe, thanks
For the spark plugs, which are the best to go for?

Why do you want to put wheel spacers on?
-
to give it a bit of a meaner look, y are they not advisable?

From everything I have read those split fire and triple plugs will cost you more money and will cost you power. Your better off with a set of plugs designed for your engine.
My recommendations to get your power back would be would be in this order. Full tuneup, plugs wires cap and rotor. K&N filter. If your still lagging replaced the fuel filter. Then if your still lagging in the midrange get the header and catback exaust at http://www.hawksuzukiparts.com/ from Calmini.
Hope you can find your lost power.

Why would you buy the Calmini Exhaust from Hawk, instead of from Calmini???

i don't have a catilitic convertor, so would those systems make a differenace?
i was thinking of adding a sports exaust system at my local car tuner
Also do spark plug wires really make a differance?

Try running without them! ;D

lol!, seriously though, would it make a differance if i changed my spark cables?

What I do locally, and it really helps, is use the Bosch platinum2 plugs, Bosch plug wires (or MSD wires), Bosch cap and rotor, with a MSD Blaster2 coil. It really helps power and mileage pretty well, but the header and 2" exhaust will help the rest quite well. If that doesn't work, you have other issues.
Hope that helps out! ;D

Thanks alot guys, when i go back home, i am gonna give the engine a good lookin over, and start changing the minor things first, and hopefully i will see about getting a proper full engine check and overhaul it abit

yah sound system..did that 2 15s 500watt RMS each 3cf sealed per sub lol...rattled the glove box losse the lock mech the rear veiw and side veiw mirrors...god knows what else and i also have noticed that my hearing isnt a crisp as it was before
just so u know..incase that money could go toward something else =)..stereos are fun and all..but high power and testosterone dont match...turn it down one min but 15 mins later it is back up lol
that and it gets really tireing watching for bacon all the time

yea, this suzy seems to have a thing for sound, when my bro had her, he had a 600RMS rockford 15" sub in the back, taking up the whole boot, when driving around we set of car alarms, our record was 7 in one night ;D
i am just going for a nice clear sounding system, so i am installing 2 150RMS 8" sony subs, 2 80RMS 8" sony 3ways, sony head unit, and some kenwood componants, plus a sony amp powering everything, quite a decent system, nothing earth shaking at all, but good enough for me
