Title: Hi-Flow Cat-Back on 1.6/16 Kick
Post by: Bobzooki on March 15, 2004, 12:14:05 AM
This is almost comical.  A few years ago, I put the Calmini Header, and hi-flow cat-back exhaust system on my 95 4-door Kick, and was very pleased with the performance increase.

When I got my 95 2-door kick, the Calmini header was the first mod I put on it, and was glad for the performance gain.  Well, I finally got around to installing the Calmini cat-back exhaust on it this weekend.  Hey, I wasn't really expecting any gains, because I already had the header.  Surprise!  I got a definite increase in power over the factory "soda straw, and coffee can" exhaust.

Of course, once I removed the factory exhaust, I just couldn't help "firing her up" without the muffler installed.  Holy cow, the Catalytic Converter gives me all the "muffling" I really need!  I wonder if anybody is running a "cat only" exhaust?

What sze pipe does the Calmini exhaust use? I just gor through putting a Flowmaster with a 2 1/4" pipe on the X-90.

I've thought about it.  It would eliminate the muffler hanging up on things.  Was just looking at it and I'm not sure how much longer it will last.  It's all beat up!!
