Title: Rocker Panel Protection
Post by: NJONES on March 10, 2004, 04:11:58 AM
What is the best protection/product out there for the money. I'm looking for looks, protection and all around function.
I'm currently looking at "shrockworks" and I would like some input before I make my purchase.

Thanks,
Nathan

I believe the Shrokworks rock sliders are good!  As long as they're welded on - well, I'm not TOO sure about bolt-ons.  I had mine done by Spidertrax - helps to be in the area.  RRO is selling theirs on ebay now.  Interesting business approach.

They are supposably coming out with rock rails for the 89-98 Trackick but like anything else with RRO that they are supposed to be coming out with, Im' not holding my breath.

Don't forget Calminis. They are a bolt-on weld-on type and the fit and work really well. I tested them the first time out, Good thing I put them on just  B-4 I went.

CALMINI has a whole new line of rocker sliders.  They have more ground clearance than any other slider, provide good side protection, and look WAY awsome.  I'm cutting my onld ones off and installing these new ones.

It's a pity Steve doesn't keep his web-site up to date.

I would have to agree...unless you live around there or talk to them all the time, you can only buy what you see.

It's one of those thing.  I wheeled for two years without hitting my rocker panels once.

I decied I'm going to put on a pair in the upcoming weeks (last year) and proceded to bang up both sides???

Go figure.

So I made myself a set, they turned out nice.  I have more clearance than the stock rocker panels.

Now I seem to use them all the time!  Who cares??  ;D

Shrockworks is now making sliders for kicks and yes they are bolt on. Believe me, it won't matter. These things are very beefy. I had RRO sliders and ditched them for these. Nice stuff !!

Yankee Tim, do you have a grand Vitara? Maybe a dumb question but the reason I ask is calmini told me they did not make sliders for the new GV and standard Vitara.

To any that are interested, I made the rock sliders for Heather's 95 4door. I can make more and for the 2door. If you are interested, pm me about the rock sliders. I'm thinking about making them for stock, 3" body lift, or universal (no taper front to back, top to bottom...just flip them over for one or the other).

Nope, me the dumb one.  I thought the request was about Sammy sliders.

I do have a GV and Sammy with CALMINI sliders on both.  The ones on the GV are proto and only for 3" body lifted GV, similar to that of the
