Title: Hi I'm new and looking for information
Post by: New_guy on March 13, 2004, 02:21:17 PM
Hello All:I am new to the Zuki realm I have just aquired a 1987 Samuri that is really rough but still runs. I am wondering about the front axel and the way the hubs tie in to the axel, on the right hand side the wheel is kind of leaning ( the bottom of the tire is out further than the top of it) Is there a bearing or something that could be broke? or is there an adjustment. Any information would be helpful. Also is there some where that sells quarter panels, and body parts?BB

If it is a very noticable lean, look very closely at the axle housing, it might be bent. Bearings breaking on a sammy as far as I know is pretty much unheard of.

ball joint wear will give you same problem in extreme case.  jack car up under axle and wiggle the wheel, look for play.  For bent axle housing, just see if it's the same angle as the other side

Thank you very much I will jack it up tomorrow and check that also. Like I said it is in really rough shape and it took my kids and I about 4 hours to get all of the dirt that was in it out of it. (there was about 6 inches of dirt and rocks in it.) Thanks alot. BB
