Title: Fan Clutch

Is a fan calutch on a 16 V the same as an 8V? IN the middle of doing my power steering I found out that my 8V fan clutch is trash and I have one on the parts ride 16V that is good.

The 16V has a liquid filled clutch.  Works like a champ.

Hi guys..
Hope someone could enlighten me, but what advantages (or disadvantages) would one get installing a fan clutch if there isnt one in the first place?

Well, I don't know, but it would be a MAJOR drag on the engine, when you drop into 2-1/2 feet of water, to have your fan directly connected to the water pump.  It would probably kill the engine.  With the fluid-damped clutch, the water pump keeps turning, even if the fan stops, and at that point, the water you just dropped into is cooling the engine.  My Kick kept running just fine, when I dropped it into the creek UP TO THE HOOD.  Yes, the snorkel saved the engine that day.

ya mine(8V) died in the trail, had to jimmy rig it with a stick and hoes clamp.  cuz the duck tape wouldn't hold.  lol  j/k

If you got rid of the fan on a sidekick and replaced it with a electric fan system, would you need to get an electric water pump too?

Nope,remove old fan and use nuts to hold pulley in place,but you need to hook up a fan thermostat to kick the fan on.
