Title: Bringing my 85' SJ410 to a shop for a checkup - what should they check?
Post by: blickbox on February 28, 2018, 04:59:29 AM
(Posting this in the general foum, since it's not necessarilly very specific to the model)

I don't have too much knowledge about cars, so I decided to take my 1985 SJ410 to a mechanic and have them do a service, and check for potential problems.

I guess it would be wise to have a list of things they should look for. Any suggestions? Things that usually break down without any warning?

My goal is to feel a little safer about the car not breaking down during a road trip.

Engine is at 105 000 KM (65k miles).

Thanks in advance!

Bonus question: What are some things/spare parts I should bring if I go on a road trip? I already replaced the clutch cable and transmission stick parts.
