Does anyone have an exploded view of a (95)Kick tilt collumn? I'm exploring the possibility of swapping it into my Sami...
-
Hey Crow, I am not sure about the year but I did a swap on my Sami years ago, I will have to give it some more thought I can not remember what I did, but I recall it pretty much bolted right in.
The truck is gone so I can not go out and take a look.

I looked at one in a junkyard with the same thought. It is really just a friction system in place of the stock Samurai fastener. I don't remember if there was any kind of joint at the firewall but anyone with a Kick and tilt could look at that for you.
How about some photos from someone with a kick/track?
Another thought I've been playing with is a j**p XJ tilt. They are plentiful and I like the u-joint tilt. The problem is that the column on the steering wheel end of the tilt is about 3-4" deeper than the Samurai steering wheel is from the dash. I'm not sure I want the wheel that close to me.

I have tilt on my kick it is pouring down rain but I will snap a pick when it lets up.

Mac, thanks so very much! A sideview woould be helpful as well as the point it bolts to the firewall. Any other angles you might think of will be helpful.... Thanks again.....

How about posting them for anyone else interested in the conversion?
Unless of course, Crowhorse is going to do a write up. I hear Eric pays $20-$25 for that kind of stuff. That ought to pay for the steering column.

i botched up a snap ring a few weeks back when putting in a new wheel bearing and could not find a replacement at any auto stores. so i broke down and went to the Chevy dealer here (over $7 for that lil one on the end of the shaft!) anyway the parts guy at the dealer prints out this page with a complete exploded view of the front drive system to make sure we were both talking the same part. WOW it was nice, each part had a # and discription but no part #. and he didnt mind letting me keep it. so go to a dealer and see if they can print out something like that for you in this case. hope that helps.
