Title: VW 1.9l to swap ready for instal
Post by: Torx 1991 on July 21, 2018, 06:44:15 PM
Hi there , just join the group here and pretty excited of the next phase of my personal samurai build . It’s a 1991 samurai efi 1.3 l . I am now ready to do an engine swap I have the parts to do the conversion and take this little warrior to the next level . The engine I have obtained is a 1.9 l td Volkswagen motor . This was quite the feet because the aaz motor either had high kilometres on it or having to rebuild a block . Luckily enough I found such a sweet pea of a motor took long but worth the wait . To say the least it was a awesome check marrow off the list . I then purchased the kit from acme adapters in Oregon Washington . Was very impressed with the quality. I was wondering if any body out there in the zuk world has done this conversion and have any pointers to look forward to . Thanks .

Jeff's instructions from ACME and their support is excellent so you should have no trouble if you follow their lead. You will need some suspension lift to get it to fit. Many do a spring over kit and run a 32" tire to get the gearing more favorable. Of course, there are other paths to success as well. Good luck and share some pictures of your progress!
