I have a new Amperes meter and want to install in the dash of my 98 sami. Question is where/what do I wire it to? Instrusctions are gone. Seems simple there are only 2 post on the back a + and -

You will need to run it between the 8 gauge wire from the alternator to the battery. Amp measurements need to be in series.

Amp meters are helpful and tell you more info but I wouldn't recommend one on a DD offroader. The reason is that your basically running all the battery power from the battery charge wire, through the gauge and then back to the other end of that battery charge wire from the alternator. Your simply putting the gauge inline with the high amp charge wire which if the gauge dies or you get a short from running all that heavy wire, your zuk will quit running.
Because of this I use and recommend a simple voltmeter that requires a key-on source and can be grounded to the body or chassis. I f the gauge dies your zuk won't.
Just mho.

Ok, thanks guys. Think I'll go volt meter.

Ideally the meter should come with a shunt to splice into the battery wire. Two smaller wire then run to the amp meter.
