Title: jimny tires
Post by: knifeman on February 03, 2004, 08:41:23 AM
Hi guys,

I'm new on this forum and I am a Belgian Jimny driver.

I would like to replace my jimny standard H/T tires with A/T tires. What is the biggest size (i would like to have 215/75/15'z) that fits under a not-lifted jimny wihtout gettings rubbing or other problems?

Thanks in advance,
Greetings, Knife

I don't have an answer for you, but wonder what H/T stands for.  I know A/T is all terrain.

I think H/T is used by Bridgestone to mark some types of their  tires. Its something like "light" A/T.

H/T stands for Highway/Terrain. Usually 80/20 or 70/30 Highway/Terrain capable. A/T's are 50/50 while M/T's are something like 20/80

Welcome to the board.  since you got 215s on it the most likely thing you could do is up size it to 225s or 235/75s.

Nice "little" ride there knifeman. If you're gonna get new and bigger tires, you could look into maybe spring spacers or Old Man Emu suspension lift, I bet they make one for that. I've seen a few slightly lifted Jimnys online, and one really lifted one with 33s, looked SWEET! Might not be a bad idea to look into it before you buy new tires.
Keep us posted, I'm sure I'm not the only one here that wants to see "one of ours" with one of those "bigger"!
Oh yeah, welcome!

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys, a pleasure to meet.

The tires on the pic are still the original 205/70/15's. I would like to go for 215/75/15's. Some people told me that's a good size for the Jimny, with only some slight rubbing on heavy bumps  ::), but nothing to worry about. Was thinking about the Bridgestone Duelers A/T Revo's (D694).  8)

I'd rather wait with lifting, cause these are my only wheels and I do al lot of highway traffic, don't wonna lose stabilty. :-/

I'll let you guys know when they're on.

Meanwhile, if anyone has experience with this size under a Jimny, please let me know.

Greetz, knife  ;)

Welcome to the board!

As you probably know, we don't have the Jimny here in the states.  But I'm really interested in what aftermarket stuff is available for them around the world.  I'm hoping one day Suzuki will import them here. I'm a die hard Samurai nut  ;D 8) ;D 8)

Hi, my girlfriend has a 2003 Jimny. We currently have some half worn 215/80s on it but we had to swop the wheels front to back to get the most worn tyres on the front as we had some rubbing. I think that on the stock suspension 215/75s are the biggest you will get on there.

Hi Guys,
I finally took the step and went to the 4x4 shop to put some 215/75 BFGoodrich A/T tires under my Jimny. Went to the mountains and snow this weekend and the difference is INCREDIBLE  .

Jimny drives much better and stable in any condition, on road, dirt and snow.

Thanks for the advice!
