Title: Need Help ASAP (Calmini 3" suspension lift)
Post by: explosivo on February 25, 2004, 10:35:28 AM
OK, I'm installing the Calmini 3" suspension lift on my '91 Tracker, and I'm to the point where I've taken out the front differential, and the manual says to use the factory sleeve for the centerlink, but I am not sure what they mean... the baggie that has all the new brackets for the front diff. has a new bushing thing, is that what i use? in what order do i put things together (there were 2 rubber pieces on the centerlink when I took the front diff off, one on top, one on bottom. Do I use either of these? Do I just use the metal sleeve?) Could somone please help me out here by clarifying the instructions?

(I'm sorry if this is a really simple, self-explanitory question, but I can't seem to understand what goes where with the new centerlink)

Thanks in advance.

Take the blue calmini bushing and put it between the center link and the diff.

Take the old stock bushing and place it on top of the center link.

The sleeve they are talking about is the metal tube that you slide into the bushing so you can pass a bolt through.

Use the sleeve and place it back in the center of the bushings.

Put your bolt back in and tighten it up.

I just ran outside and took a picture for you.

Kind of out of focus, but here it is

I just remembered that you "might" have to cut the metal sleeve down a little because I think the calmini bushing is shorter than the stock one its replacing.

If you need any more help don't hesitate to ask.  :)

That all goes away when you drop an Anvil in there.

are you sure the anvil replaces the center link, i dont think it does just the other two mounts(passenger side and driver side), because you still need to provide your own third member(steel) that is what is recommended.    shane.

The Anvil comes with the steel housing, stub shaft, bushings, bearings, seals, etc..  You have to supply your own long side shaft, third member and carrier.

Oh, yeah - for a second there, I thought I was looking at one of the side mounts...  Duh!  I do remember that I had a challenge bolting up the steel third member - can't remember what the deal was.
