Title: tracker/sidekick steering gear box leak
Post by: douglas on February 23, 2004, 01:28:20 PM
I did the p/s swap to my sammi and everything is working great except for a leak on the output shaft (to the pitman arm).  Any of you guys had this problem?  There is no suzuki part for that seal without buying a whole assembly.  I was told a bearing and drive place could measure the seal and come close.  Could synthetic p/s oil do this?  That's what I put in.  BTW it is a 95 sidekick box I think.

Thanks

synthetic oils seem to find leaks,
change to regular and see if it quits.

Drain and put in regular power steering fluid if for nothing else but the leak sealer chemicals they put in it.
