Does anybody know how much longer the calmini spings are compared to the emu? The reason i ask is i might be getting the 3in combo real soon and i like to know how the calmini kitt rides. My track rides pretty good with the emu just ide like softer sping rates couse im not putting big bumpers and stuff on it :) Thanks in advance

put 3in calmini lift on 99 tracker 4-door. the ride is very stiff, mostly in the rear. not fun on a cement road. the camber also was off, requiring some mods to the front end. calmini was very unhelpfull. would not use their kit again

I've got the calmini 2.5" kit on my GV and love it. I had issues with the excessively stiff ride at first but replaced the rear shocks with some Rancho 9000x's and put them on the softest setting. The GV rides incredibly smooth now on all surfaces.
Bear in mind the 3" kit for 'kicks is designed for steel bumpers, winch etc. The extra weight makes a big difference to ride and will also sort out any camber issues. Without the extra weight the 2" kit may be the way to go.
The only way you'll get OME coils to work is with fairly long coil spacers. Trust me, I tried it on my GV with 1" and 3/4" spacers and it still sat too low and had a heap of negative camber. As it turns out the springs weren't the problem, it was the shock valving.

Ya the 3" lift is pretty stiff when you first install it.
Calmini tells you in the instructions to flex the coils regularly so they settle down.
I installed my kit just before Christmas, and it rides a lot smoother now since the coils have settled.
The Camber corrects itself when the front springs settle in. My camber was pretty bad when I first installed the kit. The tires looked like this \ -o- / but now its almost perfect.
When I build my front and rear bumpers this spring and install them I'm sure the ride quality and camber will improve even more.

That’s my tracker in the middle. You can see that the camber is pretty good.

watch your alignment. makes quite a difference in the ride quality. Too much toe in and your rig will be stiff and pogo stick around. too much toe out and the front end will suck down and be squishy... the right offset on your wheels helps alot and i mean alot. Stock wheel with calmini lift is super stiff. we achieved a good ride from the 2" back spacking wheel on a 5x8.. just some tips..

My emu kitts camber was all sorts of nasty. but i put camber bolts on it and it's now normal 8)

Rob, I have the three inch and it is not designed for the 99 and up units, only the 98 and down. I Love the lift on my 2dr.

Mine acctually settled too much. my wheels were like this / \ . So I put the lower control arm on top of the lower ball joint. That seemed to straighten it up.
Now if I deside to go with bigger CV's. I'll have to put it back to the way it was and get spacers.

Just change the rear shocks. The Calmini rear shocks are really hard, thats what makes for the stiff ride. I changed mine to Rancho 9000s and it made a huge difference.

I still have the Cal shocks on the back, I'll have to try different ones.

sounds like calmini shocks arent that great. But i have the emu struts already. When i do the lift ill just fab up a custom shock mount and put some 5150's on it. We'll see. Some guy with a 93 samurai said he might trade me. I would miss my track but in all reality im breaking it to much. The sammy has a calmini winch bumper and a warn #8000 winch and a BDS lift. It's not decidead thow
