Title: Wiring Question - 16 V
Post by: Captain_Jack on February 14, 2004, 07:53:53 AM
::) - I haven't found a article on the 16V conversion that address what wiring you remove from the Samurai when putting in the new harness.  Any advice?

You will need the wiring diagram for your Samurai and the tracker that the engine came from and some patience.  Determine the wires from both vehicles that interact with the ECM from the donor and rewire accordingly.

The easy way is to have Trail Tough do the harness for you.

We did have Trail Tough do the harness.  The question is, do we have to remove any wiring or just strictly tie in the Trail Tough harness and leave everything else alone?

We are novices at this conversion stuff.  So, I may ask what will seem like silly questions.

Hi Jack -

Leave your Samurai harness alone! Only attach the wires as indicated on the labels. Only AFTER the vehicle RUNS you may remove any redundant connectors.  But we dont want to have any inadvertant complications created before the engine is running.
