I cant say wether they are ahrd to do or not. It depends on your skills, and availability to the tools needed.  Both my chevette, and this one were built in back yard garages.  This was a winter project for my buddy, and mine started in march of last year... like most trail rigs, they are both constantly being changed

i, also, am a n00b to this stuff...

how hard is getting the steering stuff to work when you change the body?

do the body mounts line up (doubtful) or do you have to somehow fab up your own (if you did fab your own, details please :))?

what other little difficulties did you run into when swapping bodies?

Im not sure what the fiesta cuased. by my chevette...... here goes:

wheel base trouble
rear arch over the rear axle didnt line up
had top fab my mounts
steering was a real problem.. chevettes are rack steering. had to customb uold a steering column which cost $150 alone.
Then changing engines I had realyl abd clearances problems...  theres alot more but im in a hurry. ill finish later

From what I found online a CRX has about a 90.2" wheelbase. (about the same as Festiva?)
And about a 148.5" length (about8" longer then Festiva?)
