Title: 95-98 vs 99-03
Post by: keith on February 07, 2004, 01:10:38 PM
What are the pro's and cons of the years above.  I know the newer one has a 2.0 engine, but it also weighs more.  Does the extra weight cancel out the bigger engine.  Other than the engine are there things you guys like better about one than the other?

From a modification standpoint, the 89-98 is better to modify, price and parts availability is the superior benefit. The later models have the power advantage, but they don't have as many lift and upgrade options.

Watch out for the Sport model (96-98) too.   They have a wider frame so a  lot of parts won't fit. I learned the hard way.

So, ok?
how hard is it to drop the 2.0 motor into a first gen track/kick?  i'd totally dig that...best of both worlds.

I've heard it's a bolt in.  Don't know about the computer stuff.
