yes 2 1/2 is way too big. if you steped it to 2 1/2 then you might be ok. start with 2 in the work your way oup to 2 1/2

Cat and muffler are both 2 1/2inch and i jus received the calmini header all ineed is pipe!

you can use all the 2 1/2 in stuff but if you use some 2in or mabey somthing a lil bigger you will but some torque in the engine

There is such a thing as too little back pressure.
IMHO, 2.5" exhaust tubing is far too big for a 1.6 liter engine. The Calmini complete exhaust kit, with or without the header, is made from 2" tubing. I had this arrangement (with header) on my late '94, and it worked VERY well - good performance without being loud enough to wake the dead or leave me deaf after a highway trip. In fact, it performed better, and was no more noisy, than the stock 1.75" exhaust pipe with a glasspack muffler.
Don, y'all

the whole theory about needing back pressure for torque has been proven wrong so many times
true 2.25 is over kill on a 1.6 but what ever thats what iam runnin and so far iam just lovin it oooh did i mention iam getting better fuel economy now (damn cats)
any way man your truck sounds like its gonna be awesome i just bought the stuff to make a catch can for my truck today and tomorrow iam gonna install it all i also am looking into bypassing the egr too (theres supposed to be a sensor you have to disconnect when you bypass egr and iam not shure ive never done it before) but the catch can is a go tomorrow yaaaay no more oil being sucked through my pcv valve into my engine

thanx, man i will be posting pics of my project here in the next few days so stay tune! ;D
