Title: Urgent help needed
Post by: Niki6969000 on April 08, 2019, 06:52:49 AM
Hi all. Newbie here.
I'm living in Cyprus and have bought a vitara 2000.
All was ok until I went over a speed hump, turned right and noticed the o/s tear wheel had come out. (See pics)..
I jacked car up and pushed in hard. Tried to dislodge it again by kicking hatf from inside.  Didn't budge.
Drove it again and it had came out slightly.  Repeat actions.  I've now left it in the hands of a 4x4 garage.  They seemed puzzled when explaining.
Appreciate any advice so I don't get mugged off.

Just been informed that it's the bearing.
Had a look at it. Its getting sorted.  And at a reasonable price

There's not much we can tell you without a closer look (or a close up picture) - the axle is what is known as "semi floating" and is retained by the bearing, which, in turn is retained by a retainer, held in place by four studs/nuts

There are a couple of different possibilities as to what may have failed initially, the bearing is one, another is the studs/nuts may simply have come loose, and there is also the possibility that other parts may have been knocked loose or damaged when the wheel pulled out - brake shoes, springs, oil seals, etc.
