Title: jeep mirrors
Post by: brace on February 03, 2004, 06:30:48 AM
Any body ever put Jeep mirrors on their zuk?  I have an SJ and it currently has some cheesy aftermarks on it.  Or maybe some of you have a pair of stock SJ mirrors you need to get rid of?

I would worry about it starting to rot around the mirror, kina like when your body rejects something...lol Probably would work on an SJ don't see why not.

I'll try to get a pic up but I found the perfect size mirror that is just a tad smaller than a jeep mirror. I found it at PepBoys for only $12. It's chrome and stainless with a rectangular head. Comes with an arm and everything to mount it. I mounted it off of my winshield light mount tab.

yeah I get it.  What about everybody running YJ leaf springs?  Original SJ410 mirrors are highly prized.  I wouldn't replace them if I had the oem's, but these are some aftermarket ones and they don't stay in the right position.

87BlackSami,
That would be great  ;) I'd like to see the pics of those mirrors from Pep Boys.  My pass side mirror is all but useless since I moved it off the door to the "doorless mirror bracket". thanks

Check out my site at this link: http://www.quickvwbug.4wdriver.com/photo.html

You'll see why I had to get a new mirror. If you need a better pic I'll try to get one.

Thanks for the link  :D . I like that mirror, guess you don't know if they had a mate for the passenger side eh?

BTW that's a real nice, clean looking hardtop you've got there!

That wasn't from a tree. It was from a rock when it rolled at Paragon last September.

Actually you could use it on either side depending on how you mount it. I can get by without it and it's easier to pull in one mirror instead of worrying about two.

The hard top has a little of the usual rust but the thing runs great. I got it cheap because it quit running on the guy. In about an hour I found the problem. After doing compression check and seeing that they were all the same, just real low 30psi., I figured it had to be valve timing. Sure enough it turned out to be the woodruff hey on the crank timing gear. So .53 cents later it was running. I would of liked to see the old owners face when I called him with it running in the background. :P
