I just ordered my winch bumper I'm so pumped, i can't wait. Now I gotta get a winch to go with it! ;D
-
Who's did ya order?
ARB
Calmini
-
Whatever, they both look great!!! ;D Have fun with it, and good luck on finding a winch ;D ;D
-
Yes, they both look good.
Now start shopping the ads in the local papers and Off-road shops and you could find 8k winch for only 300 bucks ;D
Or if ya got the money burninga hole in your pocket, run out and get a Warn 8k winch. They still might be on sale for 550.'
Your winch never be too big but it can be too small.
-
Oh yeah its a calmini!
-
Calmins winch bumper is nice.
Just don't forget to weld it on once you get it bolted on.
4 Itty bitty bolts aint gonna hold it for winching.
-
What do I need to weld?
-
On my 95 Kick I welded it here (yellow spot)

If I recall right, Calmin suggest to weld it on.
It hasn't fallin off yet but I've heard it happened to someone a while back cause it wasn't welded.
I washed it as soon as I got back ;D
A clean ride is a happy ride ;D
-
Cool thanks, mines a 95 so i guess i'll weld in teh same place!
-
Thats going to look sweeeet ;)

The 4 itty-bitty bolts barely hold the bumper on by itself let alone a winch.
DO, difinately, weld additional bracketry/reinforce the mount points.

me too, me too !!!
I got really pixxed off with fabricators telling me how good a job they could do for a one off, quoting a good price, and then not doing anything about it!!!
I get the feeling that some of these one-man-band's are self employed, coz otherwise they are unemployable!!
So I decided not to mess around and to get what I really wanted all along. I ordered my calmini two weeks ago from UK importer - should be here next week to fit...
already got a superwinch EP9 to fit to it :)
have to make some adaptions, as I have the 2" RRO body lift
-
So its now may 11 and i'm still waiting.....I was told it was in stock and I should get it in 2 weeks. I hope it doesn't take the 3 months it took my body lift to show up. It kinda sucks being so limited by the vendors we have. I wish I had the proper equipment to build one. ::)

I think that calmini is lucky that they are one of the few suppliers, because if they wernt they woudlnt get much buisness i think because of their poor customer service that i have been hearing about
IMO

Yeah its pretty lame IMHO. Its kinda ridiculous when you spend close to 650 dollars on a product and told a date to expect it and to never see it. Its rather annoying. I would think they would try to be more prompt.
-
damn straihgt, i called the other day and priced out a header, 250 bucks cdn, to my door (not bad) when i asked how long it would take for me to get it buddie told me "well we will have it shipped out within 7 days" i tahugt 7 days! wtf why not thorw it on the next bus out tommrow? then plus that it would probly take another week or 2 too get here, i doubt it would even get out within 7 days!
im taking my buisness else where, hope i dont have to deal with calmini, if i were payin that amount of money i expect dam good customer service.
-
Drewfus is bumperless...... ::)
-
my Calmini bumper is in Manchester for delivery to me tomorrow - that'll be 4 weeks to the day, where "about 2 weeks, as in stock in UK" turned into "in a container".
Upon complaining we were told we should be grateful!! ÂÂ
I think some importers must share their parentage with some fabricators!!!
Any way, can't wait to fit it on saturday, and modify the brackets +2"s, and , it appears, to weld it on too????
-
it came, it was fitted after modifing the mounts & plug welding them to the chassis, I've installed the winch, it looks great - pic's soon!
;D ;D ;D
( changed my strap-line already)
-
Mine hasn't come yet. i'm calling monday and figuring out whats going on. If they don't have an answer i'm cancelling the order. >:(
