Title: do I really need?

I have a 97' 5spd softtop. No power steer and no
Air Conditioning. I need help with that to but that can wait.
Do I really need all these sensors between the airbox and the throttle body or can I just make a Cold Air Intake with a Cone filter? Or will the computer go nuts?

You need the MAF (mass air flow) and the Intake
Air Temp Sensor, other wise it will run bad or not
at all without the MAF.

Ok, there is a sensor in the top of the airbox and one just outside the box wehere the tube connects. Are those the sensors your talking about?
