Title: Problem with X-90

I have a clutch problem with my 1996 Suzuki X-90.  I replaced the clutch cable, clutch disk, pressure plate, and bearing.  All was good for about 50 miles.  Then it started to slip so bad I can barely even drive it at all.  After installing the new clutch I had to tighten the cable a lot more than I thought I should have too with a new clutch and new cable.  Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing the problem?   ??? Any help would be much appreciated.

cable too tight?  Engine rear main seal leaking?  How much free play do you have on your pedal? the arm on the bellhousing?

About an inch or so of play on the pedal.  No leaks around rear  main.  The arm seems to have as much motion as it should.  If the cable was too tight would it make the clutch slip?

Did ya put the disk in backwards?

Cable too tight or a frayed cable hanging up
could cause slippage, and the snout on the
clutch faces toward the trans not the flywheel.

 Check the clutch cable arm on the clutch pedal assembly, they break sometimes.

I remember hearing about a clutch problem from someone on this board before, wasn't it caused by a crack somewhere or a faulty bolt? can't remember.. ???
