hey me too im on road about 99% of the time.......

what about these seasonal roads ive heard about in michigan........

ive had my arb,s in for about 3 weeks now and i am dieing to wheel some place any place.......

what about some snow wheeling on some of these seasonal roads.......

if we could get 5 or 6 people too show up at the same place and the same time we could actualy have ....what that word  darn uh fun yes that is the word fun fun fun its been sooooo long since ive had any of that i forgot all a about it.......

first thing we need is a plan that would be agreed upon by all who would undertake in this venture.......

we would need a list of resources.......

such as equipment like.....

communication stuff.....radios ham  cb frs cell phones....

who has what recovery stuff like......

straps hi-lifts winch,s come-alongs ect............

fiding out who knows a place or places too wheel.....

bring along stuff like a gps the more the better.....

that way if some one gets seperated fom the group we can find each other a lot easier.....

or if some one gets hurt we would be able to call for help and tell them exactly where we are.......

if we are to far off the beaten path help would probably come in a helicopter to remove an injured person......

lat/lon would be what they would need to find where we are fast......

i have most of the stuff i spoke of above and i am sure that some of you have this kind of stuff.......

so post up let us see what we can make happen all in the name of fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

http://www.michigan.gov/dnr/0,1607,7-153-10365_15070-73699--,00.html

I found this with a yahoo search. Maybe you can find some areas to ride there. You could even e-mail them and see if they had a list of local clubs.

I'm all for it I just got the head done and found about a thousand vacumm leaks in the process.  By no means a drag racer but 55 into the wind isn't to the floor now.

I have a strap, Hi-Lift, and have a CB but it's to freaking cold to install it right now.  Maybe I'll suck it up this Sunday and give it a shot.

Yankee Springs has a few seasonal roads but they are only maybe 10 miles total.  About 1/2 way between GR and K-Zoo right off 131.

I went on a trail ride with some of the MIJEEPERS just before Christmas to Whitehall but I don't know the trails and they have about a ton of snow over there now.

If you get off the beaten path to much we have to start worring about snowmobilers too.

Let's get together.......Zukis Unite!!!

It appears you MI guys need a place to play. Land out away from the world, land which is considered non-farming, rocky, sloopy, etc. should be easily obtainable with funds. It's getting the funds together which is the real problem. May I suggest that you take a look into your state gas tax money. Here in KS, our president of the KC4WDA heard about some available funding, public funding, which came from the gas tax. The money is used towards Recreational Trail Program (RTP). This money is available for those non-profit, 501(c) entities, groups, corps, etc. Get yourselves organized, see if the state funding is available (look into public state parks to see where their funding comes from), and go about generating your own ORV.

We've established an ORV park here in KS just NW of Ft. Scott, about 1+ south of KC. It's located in a county which doesn't require permits. Over 240 acres leased for 15 years. (However, the owner now wants to sell, so it'll become ours in no time.) Website: http://www.ksrockspark.com.

So maybe MI has such available funds. I know other states do and most go towards game land!!!

You guys should check out http://www.glfwda.org/.

They are an organization that tries to get all the local clubs together and get to know one another.  They are also a force that is trying to keep what we have open and are trying to make things better here in Michigan for the 4 wheeler.

On the site you might be able to find a club in your area and they could be someone you could go wheel with.

I myself an the president of the "2 Track Mind Off Road Club" around Flint Michigan.  I'm still new to the sport and am still trying to find places to wheel.

If anyone is in the area and would like to come over, just e-mail me and I can give you directions.

I'm trying to get the club together this Saturday.  We'll see.  It's kind of small right know, a lot of people have dropped out.

Hey Guys;  Just got back from City Hall.  Regestered club name, non profit status. Covers the Srate of Michigan, and is good for 5 years.  So you are now talking to the proud owner of a name.  Michigan Micro Machines. So what do ya think of the name?  George;

Ok Guys,  We need to come up with a plan!  First thing we need to do is meet up some where, lets get a list of where everyone is from then we can put a central location together where we can meet.                          George Dreher  Dearborn Mi.  313-441-1267

Also, I'm close to the Mounds.  We might be able to do a little wheeling also?

Note:  The Mounds close somewhere around March 15th through April/May.  Not for sure.  It's to allow the frost to get out of the ground and the new growth to get started.

Darn tree huggers!!!  (see rant in water cooler)
