Hey I wanna order some 2.5 in backspaced wheels from wheelers off-road, my question is that if I install these on my 95' kick, will the front in sag, if so why?
-
Yes, springs are too light for the increased
leverage from the wider stance, also your
tires are going to stick out 3" or so, click
on my profile pic, these are 2.5" backspace
-
Why? Four wheel parts has better rims w/ free shipping and you can get 2.75 backspacing for 43.00us.
-
2.5" gets the tire away from the frame more
and the 2.5" were $39 when I got them from
4 wheel parts
-
Well I am only planning running the calmini 2 in lift and I already have the 3 in body, so would the 2.75 clear a set of bfg mts that are 10.5 in wide?
-
Ya, should be fine, I mean those rims
have a whole lot more backspace than
the stock ones
-
wildgoody how wide are your tires do run into prob with the cops for your tires stickin out too much? Are the Calmini 3 inch lift springs okay with those backspaced wheels or do they sag as well? Does anyone make fender flares for the Kicks? Have you looked into those prerunner fiberglass ones anymore?

The Cops don't seem to notice the wide tires.
I'm not running Cal-Mini Lift so I don't know,
I think Mike Knows tho .... Mikey, he knows everything ;)
Flairs, you just got to get some that will work witht he Kick.
and I never got the Pre-Runner fenders made because
we needed 10-12 sold to make the mold, the mold (plug)
remains physical property of the manufacturer, and intelectual
property of mine, I could then authorize production runs,
like Cal-Mini does when they get enough orders to produce
one of their mod parts.

When it comes to the flares for the fenders I have been looking for weeks online and have never found any for the Trackick only the Sami. If someone can put out a manufacture name for the flares that would be great.

I have a sight in the UK that you can order a cat. from. It has some pretty nice stuff in it. info|removethispart|@formula4x4.com They have some pretty nice flares in it. I don't know about the exchange rate, or shipping. George;

Exchange rate BAD for you :'( :'( GOOD for me  :) :):)
Over here it was around $1.65 to the £ for ages but has recently gone up to $1.85. When I raced bikes I bought loads of stuff from the States, even genuine Honda parts cost around 1/3 what they do over here. Some people have used j**p flares on Vits (Track/Kicks).

Thanks for the input!! George;

Its not really about "sag" Its more about how weight sensitive these are. Wider rims = more leverage. The front control arm is essentially a lever on the coil. Think of putting a pipe on the end of your wrench for more torque, thats pretty much what happens with a wider rim. Is this bad? Not necessarily. You can add a small shim under the coil to get the ride height back up if thats all you need.
With some of the added gear Im running above and beyond what the kit was designed for I had to add a 1/2 inch spacer to the front. I added it about a month after I made the steel 7.5 diff. That thing is really heavy. I was afraid that it would sag my coils but I have never swapped coils and Ive been running the Calmini 3 inch since it came out.
Soooo (long winded) basicly Im saying the wheels wont really cause it to sag but yes it will sit lower in the front than it does with less offset. If it were sagging it would continue to sag. That it will not do. Does this make any sense to anybody or just me? :-[ If not let me know and Ill try to explain it better after a long nights sleep. ;)

Take a look at vehicles. See what fits their lines and wheel wells. Adapting someone else's flare to your 2dr Trackick should be rather easy. It just take a little trimming of the exterior sheetmetal and a couple of holes for the flare.
On the 4dr model, it's a little harder as the well is the door sill also.
It becomes all personal preference.
