I took these pics at the Super Chevy Show a couple weeks ago, thought I would post them up to show everyone......
Its got a 350 destroked to a 283, tunnel ram intake manifold twin holley carbs, and alot of other things done to the engine, but I dont remember what they were.
I asked him what it ran on the 1/4 mile. He said 14's with no traction. I seen him run a low 12 after spinning the tires a little less than 1/3 of the way down the track.

Although I am not into racing, that is one of the coolest Trackers I've ever seen. I'm glad that guy decided to go with something different to tune up.
-
I like it ALOT. Now wouldn't 4 wheel drive give it more traction?
-
Ya but you would toast your transfer case doing the speeds that guy does.
I bet you thats a 2wd tracker.
No need for a transfercase and a front diff to get you down the track. Bigger tires give you better traction in the racing world.
-
Now why not use the setup out of a AWD safari van? Then it would have no traction problems and overdrive gears.

I imagine that would require a ton of fabrication to fit it all under a tracker, even then pulling the HP and torque he is running you'd still break things. I doubt the work required would justify the work. A good set of slicks and some extra weight on the rear, like a battery relocation and some chasis tuning would probably net some great results.
But its still an AWESOME ride....... :o

NOW YOUR TALKING :o NOW THATS A TOY I'D LIKE IF I LIVED IN THE SOUTH ::)

I've been looking for a doner Track/Kick to get an engine/tranny to rebuild for my rig...now I know what to do with the shell...crate motor with a powerglide...oh yeah ;)
-
why on earth would you use a powerglide... only two speeds, crappy 1st. To make it fun I have a New Process 4spd Overdrive in a steel case, its the tranny used behind the 426 hemis converted to GM input / output shafts. It was rebuilt and used for a month only. I have one in my transam with a 425 oldsmobile bigblock and a centerforce dual friction clutch and I'm telling you it's indestructible. A guy I know ran one in his truck with a chev crate HO502 wih no problems

A 425 Olds big block?? How old is that???? Predates the 455, (same block I believe).

Wanna race my moped? ;D ;D ;D

Wish you had a pic of the engine bay, would like to see if hr had to cut the firewall to get it to fit. And how he has the radiator in there.
That is what i want to do with a X-90 but with a late model fuel injected 350 from a camaro or vette to keep it street legal and dependable.
Of course i would think he's running a shortened ford 9in. rear end.

Does anyone know anything about this Tracker? Would like to talk to owner!! Thanks George;
