Hey hows it going I haven't been around for a wile but I have a 4door sidekick and I have managed to ware out the bearing races in the front spindles ;D ;D
along with broken idler arm and needing a new caliper on one side.
;D ;D
So I've been thinking about doing a straight axle to solve all my problems with a three link. Just wondering if any of you guys have and suggestions on a good axle to use. I have a dana 44 out of an early bronco but the problem is the diff is on the wrong side
thanks

Would this be for a 2dr or 4dr?
I'd check out 4x4pirate under Suzuki. There is a thread there about a SAS on a Trackick and some pics of one or 2. Toyota axles seem to be the choice, however, there is one with Scout axles.
Why not Jeep narrow axles, D30 front, AMC20 or D44 rear? (And don't rip on using the Jeep axles as it may work, probably plentiful in the yards, and parts are readily available.)
-
Ya the guy with the scout axels on his Kick is from Vancouver.
Heres a few pics.

It's a sweet set up, but it cost him around $7500 Canadian.

hey, what is the address to that website on the sraight axle trackicks "4x4pirate" just curious. does any body have some new info on the calmini kit?? :D im saving up but im tempted to spend the moola on other things i hope they release it soon. later shane
-
The last i heard the kit wasn't ever going to produced or at least for a while. but what about the RRO 6 in kit. lata stu
-
The RRO 6" has been coming for ever, I would expect to see something from Calmini before you see this kit.

WHEN I TALKED TO RRO THEY SAID THEY HAD NO IDEA WHEN IT WOULD BE AVAILABLE.,...BUT WANTED IT TO BE CORRECT AND KICK A$$ WHEN DONE :-/ CALMINI ALSO STATED NO TRUE IDEA ON A RELEASE DATE ...SO IT WAS TIME FOR THE 6" COMBO FOR ME ;)
-
man, i almost wish they would have not released that little intro to the solid axle kit though...now i have my heart set on it and i dont want to spend the money on the 3" kit if im going to get the solid axle kit! :-/

I'm looking for projects, send me the
$$ and the kick I'll convert it for you

I thought you were working on a complete turbo package for the 8-valve engines?
-Eric
-
Nobody wants a turbo I guess, I didn't get any replys :'(
-
I was thinking about it but I'd have just done it myself, but after looking into the GM 60 degree V6 that just seems like a better choice to me overall. If I can't get around emissions though I'll probably have to stick with a turbo. Pretty sad but you can get past the emissionazi's just fine with an add on turbo, but those extra 2 cylinders might be a deal breaker.

I think it's more like build it and they'll come. People need to see a finished kit that they can call up and say, "Hey I need turbo kit #34501" Then, you say, "Alright that'll ship in 3 days and will be $1495.00... Will that be on you Visa or Mastercard?"

Yeah, I would like to see a completed kit before committing. I think that would draw alot of interest, if you wrote up the complete build up for a kit and had the article here at zukiworld.

i myself was thinking about running a turbo on my tracker (iam an ex turbo dodge guy i love minny mopars) i was just wondering how your engine is holding up are the rods strong enough it the crank strong enough how about the exhaust valves and what octane gas are you running for 4 psi with an intercooler
oooh and on your site you were talking about needing more fuel for higher boost levels have you considered running an extra injector and running 2 fuel pumps
-
Hey thanks alot for the website helps out alot
I think I going to use a the dana 44 center section, nuckles and spindles and make new axle tubes. I'll keep you updated on the details.
-
O yea it is a 4door sidekick and I wasn't sure it jeeps had their front diff on the same side as the suzuki sidekick

The engine is holding up fine, I reused the stock pistons, and if I had the
extra $$ I would have got a set of low compression forged pistons to put
in the trucklet. As far as Rods, we are lucky we drive Suzukis, the rods in
the Suzuki engines are like real engines, not like Honda rods that look
like toys in comparison. And over all I'm talking about double the stock
80HP output, not a very high demand on the internals anyway.
The exhaust valves are stainless, I would recomend these for all rebuilds.
At 4PSI boost and intercooler I can run 87 RON with no ping except under
the most demanding hard acceleration, and I think that is due to a lean
condition, not the octane.
I have 2 fuel pumps, 1 injector |removethispart|@ 80 PSI, I'm going to add the MegaSquirt
injection computer soon to handle the boost chore, and the stock system
will handle the idle thru 1 PSI chores. I have 4x28Lb injectors to add to the
manifold, this will more than handle the increased boost all the way to 8 PSI +
I am also considering water/methol injection, but only if I have ping problems
at full boost, this would allow you to run 87 RON full time, yet offer engine
performance and protection in times of high demand, kind of an economy
thing for DD guys that only want to run 91 RON when offroad or mudding
and the engine is going to be pushed to full power alot.
Questions ??? Comments ??? I'll answer them here ;D
-
well wildgoody that more or less answered all my questions hehe but now i have a new question does the engine come with stainless exhaust valves or did you add them when you rebuilt i never understood that part
myself if i run a turbo iam gonna do it a little differently i was planning on running a small turbo maybe a t25 or a t3 running an intercooler an extra injector an extra fuel pump and running the turbo at low booste like maybe 3-5 range buuuuuuut...........
i have to concentrate on getting my car ready for racing this summer i need to get a racing seat 5 pt harness, fuel cell, window net, and a roll bar i also need to gut the car and throw some mud&snow tires on it (iam helping build a 3/8th dirt oval right now and there gonna waive my membership fee for helping and give me some free tires they also want me to be incharge of a fwd class its gonna be soooo much fun hehe my colt is gonna be a race car hehehe
yeah so if any one wants to run their car in fwd class i need 4 more people and we have a class right now its just me and 1 other person we need 6 to be official and i aint building my car till i have 4 more people who are willing to run
-
Stock Exhaust valves are not Stainless Steel,
I do run a small turbo IHI from a MX3 which
is a 1.6L engine, spools nicely from just off idle.
3-5 PSI boost is about what I run and you will
need more fuel than what you are thinking now.
