ok well im going to build another rig 97 sport but want to throw 2.7 v6 into it my question is will it bolt up like the 2nd gen? as I have a 2002 2dr with a 2.7 I think I might have been done but curious/ I might make it 5 spd or maybe keep auto undecided

I haven't heard of it being done, but I think it's "do-able" - it won't be a "bolt up" type swap, but it also shouldn't be too challenging - the frame on the Sidekick Sport is wide enough to accept the V6 without too much of a squeeze, as it was designed from day one to take the H20A, and there were actually more SV620 (known as the V6 Vitara Estate) built than SV418 (the Sidekick Sport) - I would suggest doing an entire drive train swap, with the exception of the axles, if you change transmissions you're going to end up with major ECM/TCM/BCM challenges.

I think that it will be full harness again. I will be able to take some measurements in a month or so to see what needs to be done, and to see if doable

What do you seek to accomplish by all that work? Run V6 power in a frame with a steering box?
