Hey, we are going to have the tcase apart soon for those gears, and I was wondering about the 2-low conversion for the tcase. I thought, since I had it apart... ;)
Is there a way to do this without purchasing a kit? Can I just remove a ball or something? If so, what are the steps to doing this?

Mike wrote an article on the Kit, maybe that would help a little??? We looked at trying to make something when we had mine apart, and could not determine how to do it without fabing alot of stuff. Scott had fabed some kits for Heeps but said that one would take a wile to figure out and build from scratch. How much is the Kit?

No. The two replacment rods have a few added slots to them. All the ballbearings are retained. I think to replicate it would be very dificult if you werent an experienced machinist. Definately put one in, I cant tell you enough how nice it is. Only downside is I forget that Im in 2 low when I come up on an obstical. I think that will go away after some time getting used to having it.

Does this kit provide the opportunity to have either front or rear axle alone in 2wd, hi or low?

Hey, check out this old thread!
Does this kit work on 1999-2005 Trackers and Vitaras, or just track-kicks. I Could have used 2 Low this past weekend.
Thanks all.

The automatics have the same tcase as TrackKicks so it should work. If you have a mt then I doubt it.
Note, the tcase in the automatics may have changed at some point. Calmini and Trailtough say the tcase gears work from 99-2001/2002
