I have had good luck with the tank style heaters that Temro makes.  I have 1500watt units on both my 82 VW diesel pickup and my wife's 2K VW Golf TDI.  They recirculate the heated coolant throughout the system.

There are parts stores?!  The only one that I know of is Canadian Tire...  Thanks for the info though man.  I'm going to ask my local Chevrolet & Suzuki dealer and see what they say.

Ya that may have been handy with all the harsh weather we've been getting the last 2 weeks over here on Vancouver Island. Though its starting to warm up again. I think its about +8 outside right now.  :P

I feel sorry for all you poor saps in Ontario. I grew up in Edmonton so I know what -45 feels like. I DON'T MISS IT!  ;D

With the weather being the way it is, a block heater looks like a good option!

Where would it mount on the engine block.  I can't even find where it would go.  ???

I got mine from Canada, but it was for the V6.  Had a buddy ship it down.

And mine is SGP, not aftermarket. ;)

Mine was a solild block of aluminum, and it bolts to the block directly below the oil filter.  Makes a difference lately.
