I'm proposing we start calling our rigs "Tractors"
Reason being, Sidekick and Samurais are zuks, Trackers are Trackers,(or li'l chevy) and the Sunrunners...well nobody really calls them anything. But, "tractor" is a name given to a machinery that is basically built to go over everything, even without modification, like our rigs. "Tractors" are not fast, neither are our rigs. Built to last, work all day and play all weekend.
See my friends, this way we could all say "Thats my tractor" without some unedumecated asking if its a sidekick when it's a tracker and vice versa, or asking what the hell an Asuna is.
All in favour?
Any other good name suggestions welcome.
-
Your not to far from the truth, after ww2 they used to sell all of the surplus jeeps and money was tight(kinda like now) the catalogs used to sell attachments for the back of them for plowing the fields and what not! there for jeeps make good tractors LOL.
-
Oh that would be just great........Then people could say hey LOOK, a Cheesehead with his Tractor :( >:(
-
ok, better name then a tractor? something that would group together all the 6 different models (maybe even sammys?) I dont like golfcart with big wheels.
-
I just thought of a great name. I used it on my ford pickup after it dedcided to go into a ditch without my consent..
"DITCH BIITCH" Probably takes some getting used to
-
I've worked my hole zuk life telling people "No, not a tractor but a Tracker!!" Hence the name "lil Truck".
-
that is fine for your tracker. How about the sunrunners and kicks? Well, at least lets get a cool nickname for sunrunners, other than SUNNY
-
Call 'em RTI ramps for Sammy's?  ;D
j/k!!
-
ya but then i would have to call my friends ford with 38s a RTI ramp for a tracker. i bet he would get a kick out of that. lata stu
-
Okay, we have one against, and the other 20 that read this post FOR Tractor. I think this is going to pass legislation.
-
i dunno when tell people i have huge tracker they say, "what you have a huge Tractor" pisses me off every time. lata stu
-
I like Trucklet more than tractor...I call my Sunrunner a Tracker cuz I just get a strange look when I say Sunrunner...total confusion if I call it an Asuna ;)
-
I call mine "my HotRod"
My dad calls it a RollerSkate. and other things.
I guess I strayed from the MOPAR path..
-
I usually refer to mine as a Puddle jumper or Leap frog. :)
-
i call mine the cobra stinger attack track...think 1984 gi joe style. well minus the four surface to air missiles on the back. i havent found them....yet.  i guess iim stuck using what ever the marine corps give me to play with!http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/321655
-
Spinaltap, you know exactly what I mean. I have to explain what the heck an asuna is. We should have a name to unite all these little tractors under, a name that someone can say and everyone knows what you're talking about. TRACTOR. How about MOUSE?
ALl in favor of MOUSE?
-
people call mine the rubber band truck cuz thats what it looks like when i come to the end of a snach strap, a gaint rubber band. lol but i kinda like trucklet anyways so that my vote. lata stu
-
what about "sidetrack" it has lots of possibilitys like: i was on the trail yesterday and in my "sidetrack" i kind of got a little sidetracked off of the trail in to a mud hole.
VIOLA!!! its perfekt i tell you...just sleep on it. ::)
-
You have to incorporare the sunrunners. Other then that, I do like it a lot. SIDETRACKRUNNER?
-
im not sure if we can incorperate everybody now :-[, but if you must dont forget vitara so it would have to be:
runsidetrackara...hmmmm that does flow nice kinda wierd but has a catchy rythm to it.
-
well what aboot the samis?
-
lol ::)
-
well throw me a fricken bone here will ya, im not a miracle worker :P. runsamsidetrackara.. hmmm i think it was better before at runsidetrackara or just sidetrackara.....that doesnt sound too bad actually.
-
Trackick works the best with me but who knows.....everyone has their own opinions
-
my final answer is:
SIDETRACK it sounds cool.
-
well, I happen to own a 25 hp 4wd chinese tractor aswell as a Geo Tracker let me tell you it's plenty confusing to my friends and family when I talk about doing something with the tra___r
Anyhow due to the paint sceme I just call the Tracker the Cow......That probably won't work for you guys:) Finding this thread amusing.
-
There is no way I'm gonna call my Sidekick a tractor. It's bad enough having to explain to people what a Sidekick is by telling them "it's the exact same thing as a Tracker". then about half of the time the respond "What you drive a tractor to work?"
To much for me. I'm sticking with Kick or Sidekick.

THUMBS UP
-
THE POPE-MOBIL: its kinda boxy and looks like the vehicle they drive the pope around in. Except it's not bulletproof.
Or YODA: little and knows how to work the force.
-
Nah we cant call them Yoda's (even though its a cool name) cuz thats the nick name for Toyoda's.
I have always called mine a Trackick. but Sidetrack is a pretty sweet name too.
"Where were you? Your late for dinner!"
"Sorry I got sidetracked." (meanwhile your truck is sitting in the driveway covered head to toe in mud) ;D
-
I call mine junk. Eventually thats probabally what it will become! More and more mods so I can climb higher and higher untill I tumble down and make junk! :P
Mike
-
I like to call mine "The Slacker" probably not much help for the Sidekick owners for a nickname I realize.
-
Mine's got a few names.
It was labeled the "Little Green Scorpion" early on because of the big antenna on the back and the KC lights on the front.
It's also been called a lizard, a POS, a Mountain Goat, Baby, and other things.
Lately, it's been "Little Piggy" because of the extra added steel weight and fat stance. We even sing the song Cartman sang in one South Park episode:
I'm a little piggy here's my snout, oink oink oink, oink oink oink" (to I'm a little teapot).
LOL

sidetrackrunner?
come to think of it, samurais have a cool nick name, we could exclude those guys unless they want to be part of this....thing
-
sammy: straght axle
Tracker: IFS
Sammy: 1.3
Tracker: 1.6
sammy: no P/S
Tracker: P/S(exept for Speedracer7c lol)
Sammy: 4:?? gears
Tracker: 5:12 or 4:?? see we have choices!
nope the sammy don't fit in with the sidetrackXLvitara runners(OMG) lata stu
-
Mine is the samurai hamster because.............well you know why! ;D
-
Does anybody know which family these trucks belong to? cars start with a letter followed by body. like camaro/firebird is f-body.
-
For years, I have called them, and sen them called...
Kickers.
This encompasses sideKICKs and trackERS
I will always call them Kickers. ;D
-
The factory manual calls the tracker a J body, but for some reason it seems like there were other GM J body vehicles too and those were 4 door sedans and the like.
-
That's funny. A Tracker that can go over anything..... LOL ::) Ya, sounds about right....
Ever see a stock Tracker get stuck on a parking curb? I have. What a joke.
I think you guys should just call it "cute". Everyone else does! :P
Yes, I drive a Sammy ;D
Cheers!
Steve
-
Oh man, some one is going to get beat with sticks. lol welcome Steve
-
stupid drivers no excuse. If you're going to bash on our trucks, maybe you should keep waking :-*
-
compare it to a stock heep or ford truck first.
-

The official family name is "J - Truck"
-
jack-truck sounds like jacked-up
-
I guess you can all it that...I don't know the reason behind the J designation. Probably randomly selected or then it again it might be a Japanese thing.
-
What about sidetracker
-
I think "ZUKI" is fine. ;)
-
In Japan there was a magazine called "Super Suzy"... LOL Goddamn, I love the Japanese. ;D

Oh man you have no idea what the hell your talking about.
I've seen stock trackers go on trails that modded jeeps were running.
Give a tracker a bit of a lift and they can pretty much go anywhere.
-
I vote for SideTracker ;D
-
How about Jimney?
-
Sorry, it will alway be my "lil Truck".
-
nothing agains you callinng your truck waht you want. For the rest of us, we could call ours tractor?
-
IT'S NOT A TRACTOR!!!
(running from the room screaming)
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
Sorry, I've been condictioned by people mistakenly calling my Tracker a tractor.
;D ;D ;D ;D
-
unless it's green with john deere stickers, people wont mistake it for a tractor. Maybe you should get a 2 ft by 6 ft TRACKER sticker down the side. It will make sure people will know what it is, and the sticker will give you 12 hp.
-
It could look like the Calimini one thats for sale.
-
There you go. What else could you ask for?
-
I know guys, I was just kidding. I have no problem with the Tracks/Kicks, they're just not my cup of tea. That's all.
As for stock Jeeps, believe me, they can go places many can't. A friend of mine took his stock TJ to Jamboree (sp?) and rocked it! He's going to be on the tape as well and seriously went where most couldn't.
Whatever though, they wouldn't let me on the run in my Zuk :P Would have been pretty embarrassing for 'em! ;D
Cheers,
Steve

what the hell, we'll forgive you. But only 'cause you have a Sammy. It took me quite a few years to get to like these little tractors, Even bought a new Jeep instead of a kick once. Now that I have one, I'm not sure I'd go back. It really grew on me
