Post by: TonyBalgony on January 09, 2004, 11:53:41 AM
Does anyone have Remington Tires?
Never heard of them and was curious as to the quality.
Thanks

Tony

I have Remington Wide Brute XT's in 31x10.5 on my Tracker.  I have put a good 20,000km on them and have just wore them down to the little tits between the treads. They work really well in all conditions and have excellent road manners. I found that by airing down to 8psi offroad that they work very well.

I've had two sets on my F150.They go 40,000 miles
(probably 50K if I pushed it) and I've never had any
problems.I also briefly ran the Mud Brutes on my
Samurai and liked them.

I was in the tire business 15 yerars ago and at that time Remington tires were made by Dunlop.  They did make the Wide Brute as well as the Mud Brute
At the time these models were designed as competition for BFG AT and Mudders.  In my opinion the AT and WB are well matched, however the WB does last better for highway use .  The M.B. is a better off road tire than the Mudder but road noise is higher too.
