Title: Stuck Transfer Case
Post by: Bigdaddy183 on May 24, 2019, 05:39:30 PM
A newbie here. Hope this is posted to correct area. I have a 92 Sammy that I shifted the transfer case into nutural then can't shift it into 2H. The shifter goes into 4H and 4L but the driveshaft doesn't turn when lever is in 4. The guy who built my motor said it could just use a new shifter sheet. Could that be it? Or could there be something major wrong with the T case? Any information will be great.

I'd say it's more likely to be a shifter related issue than anything else - so shifter sheet or pivot bolt - how much slop is there in the shift lever movement?

There is not much play that I can tell. I have a shifter sheet ordered. Do you have any tips in how to get that dang lock cap off to get the T case shift lever out?

Press down & turn counter clockwise.
