Title: Vitara Gear swap

Hello,

I'm currently in the middle of installing the altered ego 4.5 lift into my 2 door vitara. (5 speed manual). I'm looking for information onto which ring and pinion gears will swap into my housings? I'd love to gear mine to 5.12s,  can I use gears out the the later 1st gen trackers/side kicks? I'm having troubles finding gear sets/ information on what will swap over.

I don't think it is a direct swap, Fordem would be the one to send a message to.

But I believe the Automatic Vitara has the 5.125 gears in them as well, so you can just track down an auto

I swapped out to pre-99 gear sets so I have more options for gear sets, however the front requires a custom CV shaft as location slight changes, Alter Ego did this for me, best think I’m all mechanical, locking hubs and no vacuum pump! Mint
