So i think my driver's side taillight socket is on its last wind.
When i hit my brakes the 2nd filament doesn't illuminate. After looking it over seems like my light socket has seen better days and corroded beyond saving.
Can i use any 1157 bulb socket? Or should i buy a cleaner one from a junkyard?
The photo is another option. But id rather keep the oem taillights if i can.

I think the junkyard is going to be your best bet - I believe those sockets are keyed to the housing, to ensure that you always get each lamp into the correct position.

It might be an interesting project to install LED brake lights inside the stock housing.
