Title: Samurai Windshield Frame Hardware
Post by: MrEcks on April 24, 2020, 03:42:09 AM
I bought a windshield fold kit for my 94 Samurai almost 10 years ago that was never installed.  I am getting around to putting it on the vehicle but have a minor issue.  The mounting location for the strap and the bumper towers on the windshield frame did not have screws installed when I bought the Samurai.  The bolt/screw location have a good coating of paint in the threads.  Can someone advise me of the screw sizes and thread pitch of the mounting points so I can use the correct thread chaser to clean the mounting locations?  Thanks.

Do you have metric thread chasers?  All the factory threads on a Suzuki are metric, usually a 1.0 or 1.25 pitch, depending on the bolt diameter - it should not be too difficult to "eyeball" the hole and figure out what diameter bolt you need, anything less than 10mm will be 1.0 pitch

You touched on the fundamental issue...coarse or fine pitch, I don't want to make the mistake of destroying the threads.
