Title: High Idle after timing belt change
Post by: kidkreuger on May 30, 2020, 01:07:54 AM
Hi there,

I recently went to replace the cooling systems items in my 1988 Samurai. I replaced the water pump and had to take the timing belt off. I replaced the belt and made sure that the notches/arrows are lines up. Now when i start it, it idles at 2,000 rpm and the check engine light is on. Im not sure what the best way to go about trouble shooting it is. Any help is greatly apreciated!

Do you have the original 1.3 engine in there, and does it have the original carburetor on it still?
